The commemoration of Indonesia's Independence Day is always an important moment to celebrate the spirit of national unity and journey. PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI), together with the community of Waa Banti Village, held a series of activities not only to enliven the celebration but also to strengthen the bond between the company and the surrounding community.

The celebration of Indonesian Independence Day in Banti began with the simultaneous raising of the Indonesian flag throughout the Banti area. A total of 100 Indonesian flags were unfurled along the road from the Tembagapura Police Station to Banti, demonstrating the pride and joy of welcoming Independence Day. The event was opened by Lieutenant Munawar, Commander of the National Vitality Task Force, Infantry Battalion 301, and all elements of the community participated. From PTFI employees, TNI,Polri, the District Office, and the community, all participated in the event on August 1, 2025.

Following the flag unfurled, several activities were held to commemorate the 80th Indonesian Independence Day in Banti. The series of events kicked off with an inter-village volleyball and futsal tournament from August 4-7. In his remarks, Andri Abdullah, Chairman of the 80th Indonesian Independence Day Celebration Committee in the Highlands, expressed his hope that the people of Banti would truly enliven, enliven, and celebrate this solemn moment of independence.

Attended by the 80th Indonesian Independence Day Celebration Committee at PTFI, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), community leaders, and government representatives, the tournament proceeded warmly and enthusiastically. Banti Village 1 won first place in the men's futsal and women's volleyball tournaments. Banti Village 2 won the men's volleyball competition.

Various events were held, including traditional competitions, inter-village sports matches, an Independence Bazaar, a village clean-up, and later on flag-raising ceremony. These activities aimed to create a warm and friendly atmosphere of togetherness.

Representing the Tembagapura District, Batseba Dimara added her hope that this series of activities will foster togetherness and a spirit of independence in Banti. She also expressed her hope that all activities will run smoothly leading up to the Flag Ceremony in Banti on August 17, 2025.

The 80th anniversary celebration in Waa Banti Village is a tangible symbol of harmonious collaboration and ongoing positive contributions to the progress of the region and the nation.
